Froyo Update for AT&T Dell Streak Delayed Again

Probably the last Dell Streak owners to get the Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade, AT&T customers will be disappointed upon hearing that Dell has decided to delay the promised update again. The said upgrade was expected to be deployed OTA starting last week.

Unfortunately, it seems that the carrier is postponing the Froyo upgrade for its Dell Streak customers “a couple more weeks at least,” which probably means that they will push it to whenever they want.

The information came from an internal Dell email leaked byStreaksmart.com:

“Sorry for getting back to you so late, but as you probably guessed we / AT&T are not releasing the update this week. I'd say a couple of more weeks at least. AT&T is pretty thorough in their QA sessions and that's where we are.”

Recently, AT&T has been voted as the least desirable choice for Android, as between June and December, the carrier failed to upgrade a single one of its nine Android phones that are still available for purchase.

The carrier's last hope to redeem itself in front of its customers was the “upcoming” Dell Streak Froyo upgrade, which was planned to take place between 12th and 15th January.

Even though Dell faults AT&T for the delay in getting the software rolled out, it seems that the manufacturer isn't completely blameless.

In this regard, many customers who purchased the Streak in the United States before November 23rd from other retailers have units that are SIM-locked to AT&T, which are still running on the Android 1.6 (Donut) platform.

U.S. customers who purchased the $299 version of the Streak with a two-year AT&T contract after November 23rd also have units that are SIM-locked to AT&T, thus they will have to wait “a couple more weeks at least,” hopefully, until the Froyo upgrade will be deployed.

Adobe was founded in December 1982 and in 1989 introduced Adobe Photoshop which quickly became its main product and the industry standard for graphics professionals. I actually kind of hate video games. I just wanted to get that out of the way so you'll understand where I'm coming from. For the most part I think video games are a total waste of time and I get bored of playing them very quickly. If it's the type of game where all you do is mash your thumbs into a controller for hours on end then you can count me out (just like John Lennon sang in "Revolution," O.K. maybe that was a slightly different context.)

I love music. That explains why I love Wii Rock Band. This is the game for people who love music. Not only can you play the guitar like you can with Guitar Hero you can also sing & play the drums and for me it's the singing and the drumming that is really interesting because it's so much like the real thing (no the guitar playing is nothing like playing a real guitar.)

I don't love exercising but I do like being in shape. The Wii Fit makes exercising fun. I actually look forward to exercising now. Think about what a great thing that is. The Wii Fit is also excellent for people of all ages and for people of all types of fitness levels. I've actually got a 2 year old nephew that loves to play the Wii Fit (he does the running games.) Usually I would think it's a horrible idea to let a 2 year old play a video game, but Wii Fit isn't your normal video game. It's actually a "game" that kids should be encouraged to use.

Star Wars the Force Unleashed Ups and Downs

Ups

First off, the game had amazing graphics. The characters, the environment, and the CGI cutscenes were very detailed and clear. Walking around in the different worlds it took you too I could not help but admire the background scenery while I was slashing up rebels.

As far as the game play goes, it was fun running around cutting up Imperial robots and cloners. Most of the game was about getting to a specific place and in the process half the galaxy was in your way trying to stop you. If you're into the constant saber slashing, this game is diffidently for you.

The storyline was good. It was a remake of the graphic novel that followed after the third movie where Anakin turned to the dark side. You play as Vader's unknown apprentice the whole time. Quite a few plot twists and the ending left off to the beginning of the fourth movie.

Downs

Although the game play was fun, it wasn't as outgoing as I hoped. Killing hundreds of Imperials over and over using different combos, powers, and lightsabers was cool, but afterwards it just became redundant.. I would of preferred more of a role playing environment that gave you more freedom to walk around and speak to the people around you. The customization of your outfit, lightsaber, and different spells were as close to an RPG that this game was going to get.

The game was too short.
Excellent story line, but it just seemed to abruptly stop. The gameplay levels were not long, and the cutscenes were not much longer. The game should of had more levels and cutscenes. I feel like they might have cut to much out of the graphic novel that the designers thought were irrelevant. But like every Star Wars fan, nothing Star Wars is irrelevant...

Overall I believe it was worth the time to play the game. I enjoyed beating it and others who have done the same will probably say that as well.

How to Create Magic Stick and Unbrick Your Psp Using Pandora Battery

Step 1: Extract the .ZIP file. Download it here.
Step 2: Insert the memory stick that you want to turn into a "magic
memory stick." Back up the contents of the stick to your computer.
Step 3: Use the built-in format tool (in the PSP System Settings
menu) to reformat your memory stick.
Step 4: Connect your PSP in USB mode.
Step 5: Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

Step 6: In the command prompt, switch into the 'mspformat' folder
you extracted in step 1... wherever you put it.
Step 7: Type "mspformat X" where X is the drive of your PSP. Do not
include the colon. For example, my PSP is connected at O:, so I type
"mspformat O".

You should see a prompt like this:

GAME150 (for custom firmware). The folders should be named "pandora_battery" and "pandora_battery%", so they should be
PSPGAMEpandora_battery and PSPGAMEpandora_battery% (or
PSPGAME150pandora_battery and PSPGAME150pandora_battery%).
Step 11: Disconnect from USB mode, insert the battery you wish to
use as your unbricker, and run "Pandora's Battery Creator" from the
Memory Stick section of the GAME menu.
Step 12: ***OPTIONAL - SEE NOTE *** Press Triangle to back up the
contents of your battery's flash into a file on you memory stick. The
program will automatically exit. Run "Pandora's Battery Creator" one
more time. *Note:* This step is REQUIRED if you want to make this a
normal battery again; otherwise it's optional.
Step 13: Press X to turn your battery into an unbricking battery (a
Service Mode battery). The program will automatically exit.
Step 14: Connect in USB mode.
Step 15: Copy the Firmware 1.50 update file onto the root of your
memory stick; it should be the same place as your "PSP" folder.
Rename it to "UPDATE.PBP".
Step 16: The extracted folder "installer" contains two folders. Copy
both of these into the same place you copied "pandora_battery".
Step 17: Disconnect from USB mode and run "Pandora's Battery Firm.
Installer" from the Memory Stick section of the GAME menu.
Step 18: Press X to unpack the 1.50 firmware files into their proper
place on your memory stick. The program will automatically exit. If
this step fails, go back into USB mode and rename "UPDATE.PBP" to
just "UPDATE", then try again.
Step 19: Connect in USB mode. Look in the root of your memory stick
(where you have the PSP folder and the UPDATE.PBP file). There
should be a file named "msipl.bin".
Step 20: Copy "msipl.bin" into the folder called "msinst" that was
extracted from the ZIP file.
Step 21: In the Command Prompt, switch into the "msinst" folder...
wherever you put it.
Step 22: Type "msinst X msipl.bin" where X is the drive of your PSP.
Do not include the colon. For example, my PSP is connected at O:, so I
type "msinst O msipl.bin".
You should see a prompt like this. I guarantee that your stuff will be
slightly different; it depends on how your computer is set up, what
sort of memory stick you have, and so on. As long as you get the "Are
You Sure? [Y]" prompt, you know that the msipl.bin file is OK.

The Curator Boss Strategy in World of Warcraft

The Curator is a boss in the Menagerie in the Karazhan instance. Here is the best way to fight him and win.

Abilities

The Curator has five abilities that need to taken into consideration. They are:

Summon Astral Flare- This is a mob that does chain lighting on the party. These must be killed immediately because they slow down or interrupt casting and movement. All DPS needs to be on these as soon as they pop up.

Hateful bolt- This is cast on the person who is second on the aggro list. It does 4500 to 6000 damage, but can be resisted if the player has arcane gear.

Evocation- This takes place when The Curator has spent all of his manna. He will no longer use any spells, but instead will regain all his manna. During this time, players need to have the flares dead and all DPS on The Curator because he takes 200% more damage.

Enrage- This happens when The Curator is at 15% health. He no longer summons flares or bolts, but he does do more damage to the tank.

Berserk- This happens when the fight has lasted 12 minutes or more. It will wipe the raid.

Fight

Have the tank run at The Curator and tank him at the first two pillars (farthest from the raid) and have the off tank hit him, also, so that he is the one getting the Hatful Bolt.

Have the main tank healers stand just far enough back to heal the tank. Have ranged DPS stand at the back wall to shoot the flares as they come up. Mêlée DPS should stand in-between the tank and the ranged DPS to cast the flares. The trick to this fight is to kill the flares as fast as possible. All DPS must be on them. Have your raid create a macro/target astral flare to speed up the targeting time.

Once the last flare dies, everyone in the raid should focus on The Curator with all their DPS. One minute before he Evocates, have the warlocks put Curse of Doom on him so that it goes off while he is in Evocate. This will do 20k+ damage to The Curator.

You must have him to 70%, then 50%, then 15% health at each Evocate. If he enters the Berserk state after 12 minutes the raid will wipe. When The Curator is at 15% health, have the tank pop any damage reduction trinkets or spells he has and all healing should be on him. DPS The Curator until he is dead.

Slackware Linux Sebagai Router

Jika kita mempunyai beberapa komputer yang saling terhubung lewat jaringan (ethernet misalnya), kita dapat menggunakan Slackware sebagai pintu gerbang (router/gateway) untuk menyambungkan semua komputer ke internet.

Router dan gateway sendiri sebenarnya secara teori mempunyai filosofi arti yang berbeda, gateway sebenarnya mengacu pada alat yang difungsikan untuk menjembatani dua buah jaringan yang mempunyai topologi berbeda, berbeda subnet, dsb, sedangkan router untuk mengatur pengalamatan paket-paket data dalam jaringan yang berbeda sehingga komunikasi dapat terlaksana.

Akan tetapi dalam kenyataan sehari-hari, router dan gateway seringkali hanya ditangani oleh sebuah alat saja. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan router selalu diidentikkan dengan gateway, demikian pula sebaliknya.

Router banyak didistribusikan dalam bentuk paket perangkat keras terpadu bermerek seperti Cisco, Huawe dan lain-lain dengan harga yang relatif mahal. Tetapi kita juga dapat membangun sebuah PC Router dengan biaya yang relatif murah menggunakan Slackware

NAT (Network Address Translation)

Misalkan, ada lima buah PC yang terhubung ke akses Internet, maka secara gamblang akan dibutuhkan juga paling tidak lima sambungan telepon untuk masing-masing PC tersebut. Tentunya pembiayaan untuk sambungan ini akan menjadi sangat mahal, bukan? Nah, disinilah fungsi NAT di perlukan.

Dengan konsep NAT, hanya diperlukan satu buah sambungan telepon saja ke sebuah PC (PC dengan min. 2 buah NIC biasanya), kemudian empat PC yang lain dihubungkan ke switch. Kemudian switch dihubungkan dengan salah satu NIC (Network Internet Card) komputer yang terhubung dengan Internet. Dimana komputer tersebut difungsikan sebagai gateway dengan oleh mesin slackware yang terinstal didalamnya. NAT secara otomatis akan menterjemahkan alamat IP dari setiap komputer di jaringan lokal menjadi satu alamat IP publik. Gateway juga dapat berfungsi sebagai firewall yang melindungi client dari akses yang tidak diinginkan.

Konfigurasi mesin Slackware untuk Gateway

Sebelum membuat mesin slackware menjadi gateway dalam jaringan lokal yang kita miliki tentunya hal pertama yang perlu dilakukan adalah menginstall distro slackware pada komputer yang akan dijadikan gateway. Ini juga berlaku untuk distro linux lainya, tinggal menyesuaikan saja konfigurasi yang ada sesuai distronya Smile Disini saya menggunakan Slackware 12

Jika kita sudah memiliki mesin slackware yang akan dijadikan Gateway, pertama-tama kita pastikan terlebih dulu apakan ethernet yang terpasang pada mesin slackware sudah up apa belum ? (Untuk keperluan Gateway, membutuhkan min. 2 NIC. Tergantung jumlah network yang akan kita hubungkan). Diasumsikan NIC pertama terhubung ke ISP tempat kita berlangganan akses internet dan NIC kedua terhubung ke jaringan lokal milik kita. Untuk mengecek keadaan ethernet, bisa dilakukan dengan perintah ifconfig.

Tingal sesuaikan IP Addressnya dengan network yang kita miliki. Tetapi jika dalam keadanya kita mengeksekusi perintah ifconfig tadi di atas hanya keluar output berupa :

Maka ada 2 kemungkinan apakah ethernet kita belum up atau tidak dikenali oleh kernel slackware ? Untuk memastikan apakan ethernet kita dikenali oleh kernel bisa dilakukan cek menggunakan perintah :

Terlihat bahwa eth0 dan eth1 terdeteksi oleh kernel, maka selankutnya kita tinggal meng-up-kan ethernet agar dapat di gunakan dengan perintah :

Selanjutnya mengkonfigurasi IP Address pada masing-masing NIC sesuai dengan konfigurasi jaringan kita. Untuk mengkonfigurasi alamat IP pada mesing slackware dapat dengan kita lakukan dengan mengedit file rc.inet1.conf yang berada pada /etc/rc.d/ .

Sampai sini kita sudah mengkonfigurasi alamat IP pada masing-masing NIC, disini (xxx) merupakan IP kita. Selanjutnya kita memasukan konfigurasi DNS dari ISP kita ke mesin slackware dengan mengedit file resolv.conf yang ada pada /etc .

Terakhir yang perlu kita lakukan adalah membuat NAT dari alamat-alamat jaringan lokal kita ke alamat IP public milik ISP langganan. Jadi nantinya semua package yang berasal dari jaringan lokal kita akan di translasikan ke alamat ip yang valid di internet (IP Public ISP). Ini juga merupakan salah satu cara untuk mensiasati semakin terbatasnya IPv4 di internet.

Nah pada line diatas kita memasukan rule dengan perintah iptables dan menyimpannya pada file rc.local yang berada pada /etc/rc.d yang nantinya akan selalu di eksekusi setiap kali mesin slackware booting. Disini -s 192.168.1.0/24 merupakan network jaringan lokal milik kita dan 202.83.xxx.xxx adalah alamat IP Public yang diberikan ISP langganan kita.

Oke, selesai sudah semua yang perlu kita lakukan untuk mesih gateway kita. Langkah terakhir adalah me-reboot ulang mesin slackware kita untuk menghubungkan jaringan lokal kita ke internet

Setting Linux Sebagai Penguasa Domain

Melakukan migrasi sistem dari Server Windows menjadi Server Linux tidaklah terlampau sulit. Apalagi, hal ini bisa dilakukan pada bagian backend dan tidak terlalu berpengaruh pada user pengguna secara langsung. Berpengaruh dalam arti ada beberapa modifikasi memang ya, tapi tidak berpengaruh seperti halnya kita mengganti aplikasi Office dari Microsoft Office menjadi Open Office.

Bagi yang merasa nyaman dengan Windows Server, jangan lupa, biaya lisensi server berbasis Windows bukan hanya dari sisi biaya server itu sendiri, melainkan juga dari sisi koneksi client / client access. Biaya ini semakin mahal jika jumlah komputer client semakin banyak, padahal sebagian besar perusahaan menggunakan sistem operasi Windows Server hanya untuk sekedar file sharing dan active directory alias domain controller. Fungsi-fungsi Windows server tersebut dapat digantikan oleh Linux tanpa ada masalah berarti.

Setting linux server sebagai Primary Domain Controller ini saya ambil dari pengalaman pribadi sewaktu melakukan migrasi server di perusahaan, lk tahun yang lalu. Sampai dengan saat ini berjalan lancar tidak ada masalah.

Distro Linux yang saya pakai adalah OpenSuSE 10.2. Sewaktu pertama kali melakukan setup, saya menggunakan distro linux 10.0 dan 10.1 tanpa ada perbedaan. Sekarang memang menggunakan SLES (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server) yang berlisensi tapi sejauh pengalaman saya, tidak ada perbedaan setup yang mencolok dari ketiga varian SuSE Linux ini.

PERSIAPAN

- Install Open SuSE 10.2.
Jika menggunakan distro linux lain tidak masalah. Mungkin ada beberapa perintah yang perlu disesuaikan

- Buat Catatan Mengenai Beberapa Setting
Misalnya, nama domain yang akan digunakan. Dalam contoh ini saya menggunakan xxxxx.co.id. Jika perusahaan sudah memiliki PDC Windows Server yang sudah berjalan, cara paling aman adalah membuat domain baru yang mirip. Dalam kasus yang saya simulasikan kali ini, domain sebelumnya menggunakan xxxx.com.

Pada dasarnya, hal ini untuk menghindari kemungkinan kalahnya Server Windows dalam memperebutkan posisi Primary Domain Controller melawan Server Linux yang baru kita buat. Takutnya, kita belum selesai melakukan setup server, ternyata Server Linux sudah mengumumkan dirinya sebagai PDC dan langsung meminta Windows Server berhenti berkuasa sebelum waktunya, hehehe…

Setting untuk memenangkan status sebagai PDC ada pada smb.conf yang akan kita konfigurasikan.

Contoh lain adalah untuk nama User Administrator (misalnya root password) dan lain sebagainya. Ini untuk menghindari gagalnya server Linux sewaktu disetup hanya gara-gara hal konyol ‘kelupaan password’ -D.

LANGKAH-LANGKAH
1. Install Komponen Samba
Komponen Samba Server dapat diinstall melalui YAST. Ketik saja “Samba” pada kotak pencarian, kemudian install komponen yang diperlukan.

2. Edit smb.conf

Konfigurasi untuk hak user samba dapat lebih mudah disetup menggunakan webmin. Nanti kita membahasnya pada sesi lain.

Setelah setting smb.conf dibuat dan disimpan, sekarang kita bisa meminta SuSE menjalankan samba. Berikan perintah :

service samba start

Jika sudah berjalan, kita bisa meminta samba untuk melakukan load konfigurasi ulang dengan :

service samba restart

OK, satu tahap instalasi sudah selesai. Sekarang kita pindah ke bagian setting client untuk akses.

You've seen them on blogs, message boards, and people selling ebooks about it. They all say the same thing - "...How to make a billions of gold using my guide". Ya right! I can tell you right now, that 99% of these people and their guides are frauds.You may have fallen prey to these "...make a million gold" ebooks and guides. Me too! I've bought so many of these so called guides that I can't even recall how many. I don't know why. I tend to think that these guys know what they're talking about, and I was sold by these marketing schemes time and time again, even after being burnt by another!! Finally, after so many disappointments, I got FED UP. I decided to get to the bottom of this fascination we all have with the gold making guides, and ?nd out if there really were any LEGITIMATE guides out there for making gold.

I literally contacted the author of every gold making guide I could ?nd. Posing as a reviewer (which I am), I managed to convince the authors that I was seriously interested in purchasing their guide(s). But first I wanted to contact some of the people they listed on their site as "Satisfied Customers", and as well as get a small portion of the guide itself to test it for review, and to make sure that those people are REALLY satisfied. This was tricky because it took some time to get replies back (if at all). However, some ACTUALLY gave me a full copy in hopes that with my knowledge of the "competitors" guides, I could trade them ideas. Well, I was disgusted with 99% of what I found. First off, once it was established I wasn't some scammer, none of the "Satisfied Customers" letters were legit. Not surprising since this was an old ploy used by many website advertisers. However, there were quite a few that WERE legit, but they were old letters. Some were sent in prior BC! I managed to get a reply back from two dozen of the 96 emails (not counting fake and no longer existing emails). Many of the authors of the guide I spoke too (lots were just 16yrs old to 19yrs old) actually boasted about how many people they could get to buy their useless guides. I repeatedly found:

* Guides that have not been updated since Burning Crusade (i.e. Burning Crusade is not even covered in the guides)
* The links to their support site and other graphics or video links have either errors, or produce a 404 error.
* Some go as far as to boldly make you click on another link for the REAL secret, which in some of the guides, cost more money!
* no real email support - and the ones that do, can only vaguely answer you, usually with responses like "... really? thats never happened to me. check the forums to see if anyone else ran into that"

I quickly realized that these so-called Gold Making Guides were totally useless. And the authors knew it, yet they were laughing all the way to the bank! Needless to say, I didn’t respond when authors would ask, how was it, or the ones who let me use half the guide and wanted to know if I would like to purchase the other half. Even when they emailed me asking how is the review coming along, did I not give them the satisfaction of a response. Surprisingly, while sifting through all of the scam guides, I was actually able to locate a couple of individuals that actually had legitimate guides.

The authors were every day people like you and me that found a way to make extra gold easily and without some strange grinding method or scamming players with dumb tricks (these methods were used heavily in a lot of guides I read). The guides were impressive and well written (not some lame pdf file that the kids wrote with), with a good amount of quality information on how to crank out a few 1,000gp while still maintaing an enjoyable gaming enviroment. I even chatted with a few of their customers (wouldn't you know, all the emails were legit, so I only had to read about a dozen) through emails, and they veri?ed that they were making a large sum of gold, just like the guides said and some even went so far as to say that the authors were under cutting themselves because with those techniques, some were making incredible amounts. It was like I found a few diamonds in the rough.

They are all legitimate authors, and professional, and answer your emails in a timely manner, which is to be expected for any legitimate author who are dedicated to helping you make gold (or level if you have a leveling guide). Very Friendly! Anyway, if you do decide you are interested in the guide, I put a link to it on my site.

Well, my search for legitimate Gold Making Guide has come to an end. I have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with most of what I found, and I strongly advise that you do not take chances buying ANY of the guides, other than maybe the one listed below! Consider the story setting
One of most pronounced differences a WOW gamer will notice when entering the WAR world is the time frame and setting. In WAR, you are landing in the middle of an all out war of destruction and annihilation! The concept of peace is all but wishful thinking in the Warhammer Online world! If looking for trouble and a fight, there is plenty to find in World of Warcraft, however in most cases you need to go looking trouble. In WAR it is in your face, up close and personal! Even the graphic visual surroundings help to portray this difference in the world settings. The bright colors and cute bunny rabbits hopping around the countryside found in many areas of WOW have been replaced by dimly lit landscapes in WAR, showing the scars of devastation and destruction left by unending battles and blood shed.

Consider the plot
The overall plot of Warhammer Online is by most accounts much more sinister and evil than what exists in World of Warcraft. Although Warhammer Online does offer nearly twice the number of playable classes than World of Warcraft, the basic roles filled are essentially the same. You still have healers, tanks, melee dps and ranged dps. The race you decide to play will determine the classes available. So for example if you are used playing the role of a warrior in WOW, in WAR your options would be in the form of Ironbreaker, Black Orc, Swordmaster or Chosen. Obviously this is a rough comparison as each of the WAR characters has been "tweeked" with special racial abilities as well.

Consider rules of engagement
Rules of engagement or combat is very similar in most respects between WOW and WAR. The main noticeable difference is Warhammer Online combat appears to be slower than in World of Warcraft. This allows the defender more time to react to an attack and prepare an effective defense and possible counter attack back at his opponent. One of the most significant differences between WOW and WAR is in the area of player verses player combat (PVP). The role of PVP is much more important in Warhammer Online. In WOW, PVP is just another interesting option, whereas in WAR, only by doing PVP will you gain a special kind of experience called "reknown" that allows for unique tactics and character improvements not available anywhere else in the game.

Consider questing and leveling.
As in World of Warcraft, quest givers are NPCs marked with a symbol, (green circles in WAR verses yellow exclamation points in WOW), who will give you tasks to complete to help level. Warhammer Online also has several different categories of quest types available ranging from the tradition quest WOW players are used to gain experience, money, and/or booty up to an new type of quest called the "Public Quest" that requires players to band together to accomplish an unique objective based on the WAR storyline. Yet another interesting experience found in the WAR quests, is the Tome of Knowledge, which actually keeps a record of your quests woven into a story-like account.

Consider occupation
World of Warcraft Online players have a wide range of occupations to choose from such as mining, leather working, jewel crafting, alchemy, etc. . Not so in the WAR world. Occupations occupy a much diminished role in Warhammer Online, possibly because you are too busy trying to stay alive! Occupations in WAR are limited to creation crafts of potion-making and talisman-crafting and some minor gathering crafts.

Consider a sense of community
The sense of community or "guilds" plays a much more important role in Warhammer Online than in World of Warcraft. In WAR the traditional reasons for belonging to a guild are to find help with quests, game play advice, raiding groups, money pool, resource exchange, etc. has been greatly enhanced. As WAR players advance, so does their guild, which allows for the attainment of new abilities, guild privileges, and rights by the player.

So, can a World of Warcraft Warrior (or any other WOW class) survive in a Warhammer Online world? Definitely, "yes"! There are however enough differences between the two games to make life interesting and challenging, and there is a new learning curve, (which may or may not be initially steep depending on your WOW gaming background) as with any new gaming experience. That number is likely very conservative, and I likely have considerably more than 2000 readers from the 100 or more directories, ezines and other publications on which my articles are published.

What I am coming to is that article directories have their own search boxes that people use to find articles on their niche, and that is where you need to use the most popular keywords, and not the most competitive. In this case, it is demand that counts and not how many other web pages are using the same keyword. Website promotion involves an understanding of the medium you are using.

So, to finish up, choose a keyword for your article that has massive demand, irrespective of supply, and another that has a good balance between supply and demand - at best lots of supply and no demand (though you won't find that it is the Nirvana).

Creativity knows no bounds. Let us take the Japanese for example: the gadgets they come up with are amazing. Some are useless but then again, it takes a lot to think of something and then actually pull through with it. Only the Japanese have the guts to conceptualize strange gadgets like that and then actually produce it. For that reason, I’m putting the spotlight on several strange gadgets.

Here are a couple of favorites:

1. Noodle Eater’s Hair Guard
Do you have long hair? Does it annoy you when your hair suddenly falls and dips in your bowl of soup? Being primarily a country who takes pride in their noodles, it’s only natural that the Japanese are starting to get annoyed at that experience. So what do they do? They invent! Basically, the Noodle Eater’s Hair Guard is a pink rubber gadget that fits snugly just around the face. It’s similar to a dog cone actually, only it doesn’t cover the whole head but just the face. In any case, when you wear it, you’d still look like you’re wearing a dog cone. This peculiar gadget is not only strange, but of all colors it just had to be pink.

2. Nap Alarm
This is particularly interesting for me. The Nap Alarm is the perfect gadget if you find yourself sleeping in between classes, lectures or even driving. You place the Nap Alarm just over your ear and through its electronic motion sensing feature, it calculates when you’re about to nod your head off and then it sends a loud sound right in your ear if it senses that you’re about to fall asleep therefore saving you from embarrassment or even death. (Though I doubt that an alarm would make the fact that you’re about to sleep a little more discreet)

3. Plunger Helmet
When the Nap Alarm fails, you can always use the Plunger Helmet. Not when driving of course. The Plunger Helmet is a gadget you use when you fall asleep on the train. It basically looks like a hard hat; the typical helmet construction workers use, but then it has a plunger attached to the back part of it. The plunger keeps your head in place. It is actually more helpful for your seatmates rather than yourself as this prevents you from swinging madly from side to side. Perhaps if you’re going to buy one, you’d rather use it on a drowsy seatmate than yourself.

4. The Amazing Shoe Umbrella
For people who buy designer shoes and wouldn’t dare have anything soil their footwear, the Japanese thought of something that would aid them. It doesn’t matter if your whole body gets wet, as long as your shoes remain untouched. These are just four of a lot of Japanese gizmos and gadgets that made its way to the market. The conceptualization of these gadgets seems to be logical. The year 2008 has started and I am sure everybody is excited about turning over a new leaf and entering a new year. If you are gadget and electronic freak like me then I'm sure you are excited about all the new gadgets the new year will brings as well. I'm going to talk about a few of the gadgets I'm most excited about which we will see in 2008.

First off the SanDisk Sansa TakeTV Video Player. This cool little gadget bridges the gap between your TV and computer. You plug the SanDisk TakeTV flash drive into your computer and download video on to it. Anything from YouTube videos to funny videos clips you get as attachments in your email. Then you place the TakeTV drive into the TakeTV cradle which is hooked up to your TV. That is it. The videos on the flash drive can now be played on your TV. The SanDisk Sansa TakeTV Video Player even comes with a remote control. You can find the TakeTV at your local electronics store like BestBuy, Circuit City, and Office Depot.

Now of course one of my top gadgets for 2008 would be related to the Apple iPod. I mean how could not pick a gadget for an iPod. This iPod accessory is a small device which you insert into certain Nike shoes. It will then track distance, time, pace and calories burned as you workout or walk your way to being more healthy.
